Comparison and Analysis (CASE STUDY 2)
[HONG KONG ARTICLE] Showdown at Chinese University campus over posters and politics
[SINGAPORE ARTICLE] Students come out in support of food delivery riders after e-scooter ban
Both reports show how Singapore and Hong Kong report differently about the protests in their own country.
In this case, we will be comparing Singapore newspaper article, The Straits Times, and Hong Kong newspaper article, South China Morning Post.

There is also follow up article on PMD under appendix I.

In conclusion, it is seen that the Hong Kong newspaper article, South China Morning Post, has more freedom in speech as the contents can be posted online, without the fear of the reaction of the government. However, in this case, South China Morning Post seems to be biased towards the police as interviews were only conducted for law enforcement personnel and not for students. Thus, readers are not able to see the issue from both sides of the story.

As for the Singapore newspaper article, The Straits Times, its freedom of speech is more restricted because Singapore government places strict control over the content published. This is clearly seen in how the report is bias towards the government by portraying the students in a negative light.
